The Bunker Hill Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Bandys 75-18. Bunker Hill has struggled against Bandys recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Bunker Hill got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Emma Shepherd and
Hayley Spriggle, who each put up four points.
Megan Starnes held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Rachel Anderson, who scored 31 points along with seven steals for Bandys. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Dutka, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Bunker Hill dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.5 points per game. As for Bandys, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bunker Hill will take on Lincolnton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lincolnton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday. As for Bandys, they will be playing at home against West Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
