The Manchester Flying Dutchmen will take on the Addison Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Manchester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Manchester's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on East Jackson with a sharp 15-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Flying Dutchmen needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Chase Conklin made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Conklin was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Bryce King was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season. Another player making a difference was Carter Steinman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
Manchester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Addison was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They lost 17-1 to Homer.
Addison saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Huston, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Addison dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Manchester, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Everything went Manchester's way against Addison when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Manchester made off with a 14-2 victory. Do the Flying Dutchmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
