The Drew Dragons can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 69-54 victory over Rise University Prep. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Drew also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Drew's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teo Kimball-Directo, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Kimball-Directo hasn't dropped below 15 points for 19 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kian Chan, who scored 14 points along with seven assists.
When it comes to explaining why Rise University Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Marcus Cage. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jericho Ia-Gi, who scored ten points.
Drew now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Rise University Prep, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
Drew will head out on the road to take on the Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. San Francisco Waldorf is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. Rise University Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th.
