The Honey Grove Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Trenton Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Honey Grove will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Honey Grove barely beat Savoy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Honey Grove blew past Savoy 20-0 on Tuesday. The match marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season.
Andrew Finney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Honey Grove got a massive performance out of Kendal Wolfe, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Wolfe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Levi Beavers, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Honey Grove hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Trenton hadn't done well against Whitewright recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Trenton beat Whitewright by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-5. The victory was familiar territory for Trenton, who have now won three games in a row.
Colton Carroll was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Matthew Brower was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Honey Grove has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Trenton's record now sits at 7-8.
Honey Grove skirted past Trenton 1-0 in their previous matchup on March 11th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Honey Grove since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
