St. Augustine is 4-0 against Mira Mesa since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The St. Augustine Saints will be playing at home against the Mira Mesa Marauders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, St. Augustine's game was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They snuck past Cathedral Catholic with a 27-21 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Augustine.
St. Augustine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Parker Johnson, who rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Johnson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Hasten, who picked up 129 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mira Mesa didn't have too much trouble with Morse at home on Friday as they won 48-29.
It was another big night for Tyson Line, who threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Tyson Ha was another key contributor, gaining 73 total yards and a touchdown.
St. Augustine has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Mira Mesa, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
St. Augustine strolled past Mira Mesa in their previous meeting back in October of 2017 by a score of 42-26. Does St. Augustine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mira Mesa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
