Two dominant backs in Reezin Stitt and Marshall Holland are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wahama White Falcons will square off against the Cameron Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Wahama is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Man with a sharp 48-22 victory. Given the White Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Hillbillies are ranked 68th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wahama's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trace Simpkins, who rushed for 37 yards and one TD, and also threw for 50 yards and one touchdown on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Another player making a difference was Cooper Roush, who threw for 121 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes.
Meanwhile, Cameron was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Meadow Bridge 46-8. The Dragons pushed the score to 37-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats had little chance of recovering from.
Cameron's win came from a few key players Wahama will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kason Angel, who rushed for 15 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 41 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).
Cameron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in six consecutive games.
Cameron has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.3 points on average over those games. As for Wahama, their record now sits at 11-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Wahama has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 333.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cameron struggles in that department as they've been averaging 205.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wahama beat Cameron 29-22 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Angel, who rushed for 72 yards and one score on only ten carries, and also threw for 114 yards and a pair of TDs. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the White Falcons still be able to contain Angel? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
