HAYS, N.C. -
North Wilkes (Hays, N.C.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Justin Shepherd kicked a field goal with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
Brevard (N.C.) 31-28.
After taking the lead on a two-point conversion, the Blue Devils went into halftime with a 19-14 lead. The Vikings took the lead to win the game on a field goal by Shepherd in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring six points in the third, North Wilkes still trailed by eight points going into the fourth quarter. But 11 points in the fourth helped NW pull out the victory.
The win brought North Wilkes' winning streak to three games.
