The Clinton Central Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Union City 74-35 on the road. Clinton Central's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Clinton Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carly Davison, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists. Davison has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sara Parkison, who scored 20 points.
Union City's loss came despite strong showings from Luane Schoonbroodt and Camryn Fischer. Schoonbroodt scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Fischer scored ten points along with five rebounds. The contest was Fischer's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Even though they lost, Union City were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clinton Central only racked up 21 assists.
The victory was the tenth in a row for Clinton Central, bringing their record for this year to 15-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.3 points. As for Union City, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Clinton Central and Blackford will face off at 8:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Blackford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
