The Alta Hawks waltzed into their game Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They put the hurt on Hunter with a sharp 63-39 victory. 63 seems to be a good number for Alta as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Fuifuilupe Niumeitolu continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Aolele Liavaa was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Hunter's loss came despite strong showings from Grace Gallagher and DaKota F Peyton. Gallagher scored eight points along with 12 rebounds, while F Peyton scored two points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Alta pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Hunter, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alta will square off against West Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (West Jordan is ranked 76th, while Alta is ranked 51st). As for Hunter, they will head out on the road to face off against Crimson Cliffs at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Crimson Cliffs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
