Basketball Game Preview: Fort Lupton Bluedevils vs. Platte Canyon Huskies

The Fort Lupton Bluedevils will head out on the road to take on the Platte Canyon Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Lupton is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

Fort Lupton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Arvada, posting a 63-25 victory.

Marely Gomez was her usual excellent self, going 9 for 10 on her way to 23 points along with five assists and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in February of 2024. Daniella Aviles was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Fort Lupton was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Platte Canyon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 34-26.

Fort Lupton pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Platte Canyon, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.

Fort Lupton was taken down by Platte Canyon 37-9 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Fort Lupton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
