The Fredonia Hillbillies will head out on the road to square off against the Olean Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredonia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 292 points over their last four contests.
Even though Salamanca scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Fredonia still came out on top. Fredonia enjoyed a cozy 77-61 win over Salamanca. Fredonia pushed the score to 63-37 by the end of the third, a deficit Salamanca cut but never quite recovered from.
Fredonia can attribute much of their success to Davion White, who scored 24 points, and Mike Hahn, who shot 7-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Hahn continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Gullo, who scored 11 points.
Olean was handed a 38-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Allegany-Limestone on Tuesday. Olean narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Allegany-Limestone 46-43. The win was just what Olean needed coming off of a 73-35 defeat in their prior matchup.
Fredonia's record now sits at 12-6. As for Olean, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
Fredonia couldn't quite finish off Olean in their previous meeting back in January and fell 51-48. Can Fredonia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
