North Gaston won the last time they faced Ashbrook and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Greenwave. Considering the Wildcats have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

North Gaston got a great performance from Blake Mitchell as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Mitchell a new career-high.

North Gaston is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Ashbrook, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
