Whiteoak extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-14. They came up short against the Manchester Greyhounds, falling 19-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.
Whiteoak saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivy Garrison, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Mareah Wyatt also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
As for Manchester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Considering they have won 11 matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
On Manchester's side, Elliana Applegate made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Applegate was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other pitching news, Bayleigh Spires looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Manchester got a massive performance out of Addilyn Hunter, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hunter has posted since back in April. Kaiya Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
