The Madison Dragons lost against the Wisner-Pilger Gators back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Madison received a tough blow as they fell 37-23 to Wisner-Pilger.
When it comes to explaining why Madison lost, one person who can't be blamed is maddie stueckrath. Despite the final result, she scored six points.
Nevaeh Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wisner-Pilger, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Brown is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramsey Arduser, who scored six points.
Madison's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.2 points per game. As for Wisner-Pilger, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will take on Twin River at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fort Calhoun. Hopefully Fort Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
