Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Dublin couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane on Friday, falling 28-7. The Fighting Irish's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Dublin still got an impressive performance from Dontavious Cannon, who rushed for 102 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Victor Copeland was his usual excellent self, rushing for 88 yards and one TD on only ten carries, while also picking up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown for Fitzgerald. What's more, Copeland racked up 21 passing yards, the most he's had since back in September.

Dublin's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Fitzgerald, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Dublin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fitzgerald, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 39-38 defeat against Heard County on the 28th.
