Chavez (Laveen, Ariz.) snapped Fairfax (Laveen, Ariz.)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 52-0 victory on Saturday.
The Champions were up 38-0 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal by
Arturo Macias in the first quarter.
Chavez expanded its lead to 52 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Macias.
With the win the Champions extended their winning streak to eight games. Chavez defeated the Spartans 69-27 last week.
CHS's most effective player was Macias. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown, ran for three touchdowns and kicked one field goal and seven extra points. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
The Champions came into the game allowing 8.9 points per game. The zero points that the Stampede ended with were well below their average of 39.0 coming into the game. Fairfax came in allowing just 9.0 points per game this season. FHS struggled against Chavez's offense, which entered the game scoring 49.9 points per game.
CHS got revenge for last year's 35-25 loss to the Stampede with the victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Fairfax, which notched a 21-3 victory over Kellis in its previous outing.
Chavez (8-0) will play a non-conference game against Sierra Linda next week, while Fairfax (6-2) will take on Apollo in a II Section I game.
