The Littleton Lions struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Denver West Cowboys had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Littleton was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Denver West. While losing is never fun, Littleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Denver West is ranked 43rd).
Littleton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Treyton Fletcher, who scored 21 points. Peyton Brooks was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Jacob Dallas had a dynamite game for Denver West, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 20 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Parker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Littleton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Denver West, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Littleton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Standley Lake at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Standley Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. Denver West won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pomona at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Pomona focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
