The postseason has brought with it a whole lot of change in the power rankings. The action included a dizzyingly high 113-point combined score from Creekview and Habersham Central.
Can't Touch This
Creekview got a 65 - 48 win over Habersham Central last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Cade Radam. Radam rushed for 280 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Radam as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Archer and Parkview, 2nd and 3rd in the power rankings, respectively. Archer finished ahead of Parkview by a score of 36 - 29. Archer saw its record improve to 10-2 and its power rank jump nine places as a result.
Movin on Up
The Monroe Area offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It breezed past Dawson County with a final score of 49 - 17. One major factor in the win was the play of senior Chandler Byron, who ran for 244 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. The success catapulted Monroe Area ten spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Grayson (4th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Lowndes (5th). The teams have their eyes fixed on the championship after last-week playoff conquests. Grayson and Lowndes can't both win again this week, so we'll learn on Friday which team falters and which extends its success.
