Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hernando). They blew past the Angeline Academy of Innovation Archers 68-38 on Monday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-19.

Daniel Merizalde was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Joseph Rivera was another key player, putting up 11 points, to go along with five assists and three steals.

Hernando pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Angeline Academy of Innovation, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando and Central will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Hernando is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season. As for Angeline Academy of Innovation, they will head out to challenge Lecanto at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
