The Palm Beach Lakes Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Atlantic Christian Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Palm Beach Lakes, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Palm Beach Lakes made easy work of Sheridan Hills Christian and carried off a 20-3 win. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.
Kaiden Edwards made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Palm Beach Lakes is undefeated when Edwards posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Zavier Mendonca was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Gabriel Hall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Palm Beach Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Christian started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Glades Day. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 5-3 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Sharks have suffered since April 4, 2024.
Landon Moffitt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Micah Herring was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Adon Herring was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Palm Beach Lakes pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Atlantic Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Palm Beach Lakes has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .509. However, it's not like Atlantic Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .495. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palm Beach Lakes might still be hurting after the 16-5 defeat they got from Atlantic Christian in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
