The St. Joseph Knights will head out to challenge the Clovis West Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph will be strutting in after a victory while Clovis West will be coming in after a loss.
St. Joseph barely beat Lompoc the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat the Braves 42-0. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight games by 25 points or more so far this season.

Grayson Gaines and Jack Heaslet were among the main playmakers for St. Joseph as the former gained 190 total yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 186 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Gaines is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something St. Joseph proved: they limited Lompoc to a paltry 2.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Jachin Hanjiv for the heroic effort on defense: he. St. Joseph didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged nine.
Meanwhile, Clovis West came up short against Clovis on Friday and fell 28-17. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Clovis West saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aamir Wright picked up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Clovis West's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Elijah Amatt was especially locked on to Clovis' QB and sacked him twice. Tytus Dimmer was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making eight total tackles, and defending one pass.
St. Joseph's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.8 points over those games. As for Clovis West, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. St. Joseph has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 210.4 rushing yards per game.
