The Henrietta Bearcats came into Friday's matchup having lost 12 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Jacksboro on Friday and snuck past 49-47. The win was just what Henrietta needed coming off of a 66-33 loss in their prior game.
Despite the loss, Jacksboro still got an impressive performance from Lando Belcher, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. It was the first time this season that Belcher pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cannon Valenzuela, who scored 13 points.
Henrietta's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-22. As for Jacksboro, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
Henrietta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jacksboro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against City View at 7:30 p.m. Jacksboro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 884th, while City View is ranked 267th).
