The Progreso Red Ants were the 59-47 winner over the Lasara Lions when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Progreso was the victim of a rough 60-34 loss at the hands of Lasara on Friday. Progreso has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Progreso still got an impressive performance from Sophia Pecina, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Pecina scored a full 35.3% of Progreso's points, the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lorena Cerda was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Progreso's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-7. As for Lasara, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Raymondville's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Progreso's offense will have their work cut out for Progreso.
