The Orestimba Warriors came tearing into Saturday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Liberty Ranch by a score of 62-50. Given Orestimba's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Liberty Ranch is ranked 741st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blake Melo was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Marin dominguez, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Orestimba pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Liberty Ranch, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Orestimba will head out on the road to face off against Mariposa County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty Ranch, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in El Dorado's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
