North unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 78-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Marion Gators on Tuesday.
Loss or not, North got some senior leadership from Michael Felder and Ashston Jamison. Felder dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds, while Jamison shot 71% from the field en route to 22 points. Josiah Jackson was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points along with five assists and three steals.
Lake Marion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Breion Shivers out in front who shot 78% from the field on his way to 24 points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds Shivers has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Robinson, who went 7-for-10 en route to 18 points.
Lake Marion has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North will square off against Denmark-Olar at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Marion, they will welcome Woodland at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
