Nardin Academy dropped down to 4-7 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Mount St. Mary Academy Thunder, falling 7-1. The Gators were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Thunder's pitcher proved too tough.
Abigail McGrath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Nardin Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Scarpace, who went 1-for-4 with one double.
As for Mount St. Mary Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Considering they have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
