West Cabarrus is 0-10 against Cox Mill since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. West Cabarrus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, West Cabarrus made easy work of Olympic and carried off an 18-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.
West Cabarrus got a great performance from Brooks Jenio as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Jenio a new career-high.

At the plate, Will Parker was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of West Cabarrus' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ryan Matthews, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
West Cabarrus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Cox Mill came up short against Hickory Ridge on Thursday and fell 5-2. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Bulls recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Cox Mill also got a good showing from Jacob McCarter, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
On the hitting side, Cox Mill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Kirby, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. McCray Trimble was another, earning two runs and two stolen bases.
Cox Mill's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for West Cabarrus, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. West Cabarrus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cox Mill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
