The Castle View Sabercats lost against the Highlands Ranch Falcons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Castle View took a serious blow against the Falcons, falling 70-37. Castle View was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-12.
Castle View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenzie Tosch, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Jacobsen, who scored eight points.
Highlands Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ezra Simonich, who scored 19 points. Tori Baker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Castle View has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Highlands Ranch, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Castle View will head out on the road to square off against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. ThunderRidge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sabercats in Colorado (the Grizzlies are ranked 28th, while the Sabercats are ranked 91st). As for Highlands Ranch, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Cyclones at 2:30 p.m. Pueblo West is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
