Brookfield hasn't had much luck against Masuk recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m.
Brookfield managed to slip by Nonnewaug the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bobcats came up short against the Chiefs on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bobcats have suffered since November 5, 2024.
While Brookfield was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-18.
Meanwhile, Masuk entered their tilt with Immaculate on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Panthers have posted against the Mustangs since October 17, 2018.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Masuk was: they took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-10, 25-10.
Brookfield better keep an eye on Mary-Kate Boyle. She was instrumental in Masuk's win, getting seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Boyle has posted since back in September.
Masuk was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matchups.
Masuk's record is now 20-9. As for Brookfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Brookfield couldn't quite get it done against Masuk when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
