The Vancleave Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 52-36 fall against Stone. While losing is never fun, Vancleave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Stone is ranked 102nd).
JaKobey Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds for Stone. Johnson hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. Kamorious Tisdale was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Vancleave dropped their record down to 1-19 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Stone, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.
Vancleave will head out on the road to take on East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Central has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20. As for Stone, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Gautier at 7:30 p.m.
