Volleyball Recap: Shining Light Academy Comes Up Short

The Shining Light Academy Knights came up short against the Raleigh Christian Academy Eagles on Monday and fell 3-1.

While Shining Light Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19.

Raleigh Christian Academy was led to victory by Alyssa Wagenschutz and Jenna Hopkins. Wagenschutz had 18 kills, eight digs, and seven aces, while Hopkins had seven digs and four aces. Wagenschutz is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Madison Jones was another key player, getting 17 kills and one block.

Shining Light Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Raleigh Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Shining Light Academy and White Plains Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Raleigh Christian Academy, they will face off against Greater Vision Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
