Basketball Game Preview: South Aiken Thoroughbreds vs. Strom Thurmond Rebels

South Aiken and Strom Thurmond are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The South Aiken Thoroughbreds are taking a road trip to take on the Strom Thurmond Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in South Aiken's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Last Friday, South Aiken really took it to Hardeeville for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-18 win. The Thoroughbreds pushed the score to 54-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Canes had no chance of recovering from.

Keon Raysor was his usual excellent self, as he made all 8 shots he took racking up 21 points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Kelton Walker was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and six steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Strom Thurmond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They managed a 55-50 victory over Gilbert on Tuesday.

South Aiken now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Strom Thurmond, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

South Aiken couldn't quite finish off Strom Thurmond when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 38-35. Can South Aiken avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
