The Brooks Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Kankakee 81-33. While losing is never fun, Brooks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while Kankakee is ranked 29th).
Despite the loss, Brooks still got an impressive performance from Jacob Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Hayes, who scored six points along with two steals.
Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Kankakee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
Brooks will be playing at home against Simeon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kankakee, they will head out on the road to face off against Urbana at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
