The Peoria Heights Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Peoria Heights has six straight wins, ROWVA/Williamsfield has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Peoria Heights earned a 54-47 win over Illini Central/Greenview.
Janessa Marie wallace was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rianna Foster, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, ROWVA/Williamsfield took a serious blow against Macomb on Wednesday, falling 55-26.
Peoria Heights' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Peoria Heights came up short against ROWVA/Williamsfield in their previous matchup back in February, falling 61-56. Can Peoria Heights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
