St. Elmo/Brownstown won the last time they faced Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eagles secured a 60-56 W over the Titans. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Chase Rhode and Preston Bancroft certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Rhode almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Bancroft dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Bancroft is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Anthony Smith was another key player, putting up two points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals.

St. Elmo/Brownstown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coming up, St. Elmo/Brownstown is taking a road trip to face off against North Clay/Clay City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they will challenge Arcola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
