The Casey-Westfield Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cumberland Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Casey-Westfield was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They strolled past Paris with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. The win made it back-to-back wins for Casey-Westfield.
Connor Sullivan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Sullivan is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played.
Meanwhile, Cumberland can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-0 victory over Argenta-Oreana at home.
Cumberland had a senior duo take command as Blake Mcmechan gained 130 total yards and three touchdowns and Braydon Olmstead threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Cumberland's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Isaac Venatta and his two sacks.
Their wins bumped Casey-Westfield to 8-1 and Cumberland to 6-3.
