The Classical Prep Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Universal Academy as Classical Prep made off with a 50-27 victory. Classical Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season.
Leading Classical Prep to victory were Mia Milanes and Kaelyn Malloy. Milanes dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Malloy dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Malloy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Sophia Gannon was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Classical Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Universal Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Classical Prep will take on Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Universal Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Sarasota Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Sarasota Christian's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Universal Academy has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
