The Holy Family Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Longmont Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Holy Family posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They blew past Centaurus 63-36 at home. With Holy Family ahead 37-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Holy Family's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Schott, who scored eight points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Gabe Tafoya, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Longmont took their match at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-31 win over Greeley Central. With that win, Longmont brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.
Cole Gaddis was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Suge Valles was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Holy Family and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Longmont, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Holy Family hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 60.3 points per game. However, it's not like Longmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 50.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Holy Family came up short against Longmont when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 59-47. Thankfully for Holy Family, Kaden Rose (who scored 22 points along with four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
