The Washington Rams will face off against the Copper Canyon Aztecs at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Washington is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Washington will bounce into Monday's game after beating Independence, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Patriots on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Jonathan Martinez Luna and Rylan Evans did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez Luna got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Evans went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Evans a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dustin Lugo, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Copper Canyon won against Sierra Linda on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Aztecs were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Aztecs, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Dariany Flores made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Flores was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nicholas Encinas, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Justin Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Copper Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Copper Canyon's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Washington has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Copper Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Washington might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Copper Canyon when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
