Cape Fear Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Living Water Christian on Friday as Cape Fear Academy made off with a 62-41 win. Given Cape Fear Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Living Water Christian is ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cape Fear Academy relied on the efforts of Thomas Watkins, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds, and Kareem Anderson, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Watkins pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angelo Vega, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Westchester Country Day earned a 59-47 victory over Coastal Christian on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westchester Country Day.
Cape Fear Academy pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Westchester Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
