Ceres is 10-0 against the Spartans since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Ceres Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grace Davis Spartans at 7:15 p.m. Ceres knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Spartans like a good challenge.
Even though Los Banos scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Ceres still came out on top. Ceres walked away with a 64-55 win over the Tigers.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ceres to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carey Mastin, who scored 21 points along with six assists and two steals. Mastin hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Manuel Ortega, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Grace Davis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. The contest between them and Beyer wasn't particularly close, with Grace Davis falling 59-44.
Ceres has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Grace Davis, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Ceres didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Spartans in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 67-63 victory. Does Ceres have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
