Barrington is 1-7 against Bishop Hendricken since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Barrington Eagles will square off against the Bishop Hendricken Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Barrington will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Barrington stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mt. Pleasant 68-35 at home. Given Barrington's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 29th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nick Scandura continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points. Matt Leonard was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, even though Portsmouth scored an imposing 63 points on Friday, Bishop Hendricken still came out on top. Bishop Hendricken managed a 68-63 victory over Portsmouth. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bishop Hendricken.
Barrington pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Bishop Hendricken, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Barrington beat Bishop Hendricken 53-41 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barrington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
