The biggest upset of the week belonged to West Hills, who took down 185th ranked West Hills, 36-10.
Grossmont extended the longest winning streak in Grossmont - Hills this week by beating Granite Hills, 48-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Foothillers.
Grossmont's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anthony Lawrence threw for 333 and four touchdowns and Jeff Bowers had 96 yards receiving. On the ground Marlon Lampart chipped in 66 yards. Brett Stone helped Grossmont's passing attack out by catching five balls for 65 yards.
Thomas Karlo's team's Lawrence and Bowers have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Lawrence has thrown for 1627 yards this season, while Bowers, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 27 catches for 472 yards. Eric Seaboch from the Wolf Pack leads the league in rushing with 387 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Steele Canyon takes on the Foothillers. At the moment, the Cougars are in fifth, while Grossmont is in first.
Steele Canyon moved up to 171 from 233 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Grossmont - Hills. A 36-10 win over West Hills helped Scott Longerbone's team improve its standing.
