The Credo Gryphon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They lost to St. Vincent de Paul at home by a decisive 42-26 margin. Credo was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Vincent de Paul apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Credo had strong showings from Reilly Fay, who scored 12 points, and June Guthrie, who scored seven points. That was a full 46.2% of Credo's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Credo has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Credo will take on Roseland Collegiate Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Vincent de Paul, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Rio Lindo Adventist at 5:00 p.m. Rio Lindo Adventist has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
