GLOUCESTER CITY, N.J. -
Woodstown (N.J.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Jared Carney ran for a touchdown with 11:00 to go, bringing the team to victory over
Gloucester City (N.J.) 21-14.
The Wolverines led 7-0 at halftime, but the Lions recaptured the lead on a two-point conversion with under a minute left in the third.
By the end of the third, Woodstown found itself trailing by one point as Gloucester City captured the lead thanks to two scores in the quarter. GC scored on a touchdown run by
Marc Seibert and a two-point conversion in the quarter.
WHS came into the game allowing 6.8 points per game. Gloucester City's 14 points were right around their season average of 16.0 per game.
The loss comes after Gloucester City defeated Wildwood 44-8 last week. The loss broke Gloucester City's two-game winning streak.
