The Concord Spiders will take on the West Rowan Falcons in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Concord has seven straight victories, West Rowan has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Friday, Concord was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Norman Charter, taking the game 75-67. Given the Spiders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Knights are ranked 393rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Concord smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, West Rowan played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 78-39 defeat at the hands of Robinson. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Concord strolled past West Rowan in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 71-57. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was West Rowan's Will Givens Jr., who posted 22 points and four steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for Concord to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
