It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Brookhaven Academy Cougars had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 8-0 shutout. Brookhaven Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 14 matches by three goals or more this season.
They hit Parklane Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Noah Fisher-Butler (3),
Yojan Hernandez (3), and
Cooper Strickland (2).
Brookhaven Academy pushed their record up to 20-0-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home. As for Parklane Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Brookhaven Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against East Rankin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Parklane Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
