The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cornerstone Family in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Family lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaylee Heinen. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with six steals. Heinen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Brown, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Cornerstone Family has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Cornerstone Family will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
