When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lia Sims. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Sims scored a full 77.3% of Central's points, the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cesar Chavez racked up 13 assists.
Cesar Chavez's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lakeisha Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sophia Doromal, who scored 21 points along with three steals.
Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Cesar Chavez, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
