Cushing extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 35-31 W against Fort Gibson. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cushing also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cushing to victory, but perhaps none more so than Roman Tucker, who threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 80 yards and one TD. Tucker has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Lane Simpson was another key player, picking up 80 receiving yards and three scores.
As for Fort Gibson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. Despite 71 more yards than Cushing, Fort Gibson couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brody Hansen, who picked up 221 receiving yards and three TDs. With that strong performance, Hansen is now averaging an impressive 112.8 receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Karrson Davis, who threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.4% of his passes.
